Fannremsgården

Six cows, dozens of chickens, a horse and a cat named Josefine share Fannremsgården with Jon Fredrik, who has lived here all his life.  He inherited his name from his great-great-grandfather, who came to the farm in 1856.  Five family generations of farmers have carefully cultivated the land and livestock of the farm, and after offers from real estate developers to build up the area, Jon Fredrik decided to embrace a long-term commitment to manage the stewardship of this farm in an ecological and regenerative way. The thinking is that by conserving land that has been cultivated and had nourished people for thousands of years, it could give a mutually dependent relationship that underpins a better social economy.

Dagros, Rosa, Kronborg, Drople and Oldborg are some of the cows from the traditional breed of livestock cattle, a type that is not bred very often and almost not in use today, but they produce a fat sour cream and butter that have made the products that Jon Fredrik had been acquainted with and now sought. The prize cow in the cowshed is Drople, and when her refined milk is made into sour cream, it is something that needs to be tasted with all your senses, for it is exquisite.
